The amazing legacy of photographer Jim Marshall is explored in a special public event on Monday, June 12.  “Wrangling the Brilliant and Notorious Legacy of Jim Marshall,”  focuses on the bands and the visual chronicler who brought the counterculture movement to the forefront during the Summer of Love.

In a discussion hosted by SFAC Galleries Director Meg Shiffler, Amelia Davis, owner of Jim Marshall Photography LLC, and Nicholas Meriwether, Grateful Dead historian/archivist and director of the Center for Counterculture Studies, will take you behind the scenes by recounting fascinating, little-known stories about the forces that chiseled a big place in history for a movement driven by music and images.
