Three Gallery Exhibitions in March 2011 Celebrated Jim Marshall & "Pocket Cash."
A selection of never-before-seen photographs of Johnny Cash from the final book developed with Jim Marshall, Pocket Cash (Chronicle Books, Fall 2010), were featured in exhibitions at JMP LLC's authorized galleries in San Francisco, New York and London.
San Francisco Board Supervisor Scott Wiener declared October 18, 2014, "Jim Marshall Day" at the San Francisco Art Exchange's launch event for the new book of Jim's work, "The Haight: Love, Rock, and Revolution." Read more about the event: SF Proclaims Jim Marshall Day.
Coinciding with the opening of The Jack and Jim Gallery at Austin City Limits Live, the city of Austin declared September 14, 2011, "Jim Marshall Day." In January 2014, Jim Marshall was posthumously honored with the Trustees Award from The Recording Academy, a Special Merit Award that honors contributions to music in areas other than performance. This is the music industry’s highest. Accepting the award was Jim Marshall's sole beneficiary, Amelia Davis, who is also the owner and founder of Jim Marshall Photography LLC.

"A Hero of the True West, Photographs of Johnny Cash by Jim Marshall" made its first appearance in Scotland, at Summerhall, from October 6 through November 24, and included a selection of never-before-seen images of Johnny Cash from the final book developed with Jim Marshall, Pocket Cash.
Joel Selvin has covered pop music for the San Francisco Chronicle since 1970. He is the author of more than twelve other books, including the #1 New York Times bestseller "Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock" (with Sammy Hagar) and the classic best-selling account of the Haight in the sixties, "Summer of Love: The Inside Story of LSD, Free Love, and High Times in the Wild West." A close friend of Jim Marshall, Selvin has worked on virtually every book Marshall has produced since their 1992 collaboration, "Monterey Pop." He lives in San Francisco.
